Fudge, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15), and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Chair Judy Chu (CA-27) released the following statements on H.R. 1911, which would attempt to reduce the federal deficit by saddling students and parents with additional student loan interest charges. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill would charge millions of students and families $3.7 billion over the next decade, in additional interest payments relative to current law.
